About the Authors
Melissa and her daughter, Lexy live in a small south Texas town (home of the famous King Ranch). Melissa is a bookkeeper at a Wildlife Game Preserve. She has had a poem published, and has contributed to an article in the Texas Monthly magazine. She is currently working on a book about being a single mom. Lexy attends school as an all “A” honor student. She hopes to one day become a Veterinarian. Melissa & Lexy have come to realize that they may soon have to become Zoo Keepers if they do not stop adopting animals!
About the Illustrator
John Aregood grew up on a family-owned farm in rural South Texas. In high school he played on the baseball and basketball teams and was an active member of the local FFA chapter and church. After graduating high school he went on to pursue a bachelor in landscape architecture and a master of science in land development at Texas A&M University. While attending Texas A&M University he traveled to Germany where he studied European architecture and practiced landscape architecture with architects in Cologne. He currently resides in College Station where he spends most of his time studying real estate, capital markets, investment management, and land development. He also spends his time designing residential landscapes, illustrating books, and volunteering as a youth league basketball coach.
